Terms of use
Draft terms for the StoryVault prototype. They are not a substitute for counsel and must be rewritten for the live magazine and any later paid service.
The magazine
StoryVault is a website for reading short fiction and editorial features. These terms cover that website. They do not create a partnership, employment, or paid subscription. There is no public submission desk and no paid product in this prototype.
Using the site
You may read the stories and pages we publish here for personal, non-commercial use. You may share links to those pages. You may not scrape the site in a way that harms other readers, attempt to break into the editorial desk, or republish the stories as your own work.
The site is provided as-is while we build the magazine. Features will change. Downtime will happen. Do not rely on this prototype as the only copy of anything you cannot replace.
Accounts
Reader accounts are not offered on the public magazine. Sign-in at /login is for staff who already have a desk account. Staff must keep their passwords to themselves and use the desk only for editorial work they are authorized to do.
Content
The sample stories and features on this site are original editorial fiction created for StoryVault. Copyright in those pieces remains with the magazine unless a later contributor agreement says otherwise. If you contribute writing in a later phase, a separate agreement will apply.
Privacy
How we handle information is described in the Privacy Policy and the cookie policy. Those pages are drafts as well. Using the site does not waive rights you have under the law of your country.
No payments in this prototype
There are no fees, refunds, or in-app purchases here. Do not send money to the placeholder addresses on the contact page.
Disclaimer
The stories are fiction or editorial features. They are not advice. To the extent the law allows, the site is offered without warranties of uninterrupted access, fitness for a particular purpose, or error-free operation. This sentence is a placeholder and must be reviewed for the jurisdictions where you operate.
Changes
We may replace this draft as the magazine grows. A revised version will be posted on this page. If a change requires consent or notice under a law that applies to you, the operator must follow that law. Posting a new draft is not, by itself, legal notice everywhere.
